Tweed on Denim

Long Sleeve Dress: Aritzia | Denim Vest: Levi's | Wool Blazer & Shoes: Zara | Chain Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Valentino

I really had fun putting this outfit together.  A tweed blazer with denim is a great way to style a simple cotton dress.  The added texture of wool and the ruggedness of denim gave this figure hugging dress a more laid back look.  I'm a big fan of menswear inspired women's clothing.  I love mixing girly pieces with tailored blazers; and denim with soft florals.  I have to admit, my denim vest is on heavy rotation with my sun dresses.  I also can't seem to get enough of the Chelsea Boot this season, but this particular pair from Zara tops my list.

I love reading your comments.  Let me know what you liked, didn't like, or just how you're feeling today; I love hearing them all.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hannah! I love that you chose to accent this outfit with gold accessories. Combining denim with other fabrics can be tricky especially with brighter washes of denim. Your gold accessories help tie the look together, keeping it classy and modern. Good look!

THANK YOU BARNES! I'm so amped about your comments! It's so refreshing to be able to reply to a comment on my post. Classy and modern is exactly what I was aiming for. I also agree about the gold accents which definitely gave this look the finishing touch. Stay tuned for more!!!

Love the outfit for myself but I don't think I can pull it off with the boots. I am not into boots, do you recommend another pair of shoes that would go with this lovely outfit?

Thank you! I'm glad you loved the outfit as much as I did. If you're not into boots, there's a whole lot of options with shoes. It really just depends on your mood. Shoes are something you can experiment with and it's what makes dressing up "FUN" =). Ballet flats are a great alternative for a casual look, but you can also dress it up a little with a little kitten heel minus the denim vest. There's so many different looks I can create with this outfit with so many different shoes, but it would really just depend on your personal style and what kind of things you're comfortable wearing.
