Comfort is Key

My take on comfort is a pair of stretchy jeans, a t-shirt, and an oversized sweater.  I love having the extra mobility in my clothing which is the combination of 100% cotton and a hint of spandex.  One of my favourite things to wear is a t-shirt, but not just any kind, it has to be cotton.  I love the softness and comfortability of cotton.  Nowadays, I find it rare to find pieces that are pure cotton, most are mixed with man-made fibres.  It's just not the same! There are pieces that are well made, but they do come with a heavy price tag.  Anything over $100 for a t-shirt is definitely a "nay" to me and out of my budget.  I love looking for sales and I would do whatever it takes to get the best price for my basic fashion finds.

My top 3 store suggestions
  1. American Apparel, all American Cotton and manufacturing
  2. Winners, all you need is a little patience to find the best Winners has to offer
  3. Walmart, (because Target hasn't officially launched their stores yet in Toronto)

Where do you find your cotton?

I'm glad I'm not alone in my search of clothing that is 100% natural fibers. It can be a struggle at times. I generally don't like blends as many synthetic materials just don't breathe the same!

If loose is a look you like, try the Mens section. Generally what I've noticed is a Mens clothing is typically 100% cotton in regards to T-Shirts. I think guys are typically more drawn to comfort than most women!
Some great affordable finds can be found at H&M as a result.

Also, tho sometimes annoying is just checking the labels. Zara has a lot of synthetic blends, but I've also stumbled across items that are 100% cotton or silk. And since sales occur often at Zara, just waiting for an item is a good idea!

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for sharing your love for cotton and natural fibres, and YES you are not alone! H&M and Zara are definitely great stores to find your fashion basics in; and the most exciting of it all is FINDING IT AT A SALE PRICE! I also have to try and make time to visit the menswear department more often, because I have found several functional pieces in menswear that seem to last forever.
